The central government of China tries to build a modern and Cosmo-political image for the City Shanghai, that will host from May on 6 months the EXPO 2010.

The national and international reactions on the image-cultivation of the metropolis are the starting point of the measure: distorted perceptions will be "demystified".

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation/ Shanghai holds this seminar in cooperation with the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS). The seminar will focus on the analysis of the Sino-German dialogue conveyed through intercultural perceptions. The national and international participants, including scientists, students and consultants of society and politics, discuss on Sino-German self-perception and perceptions of others in the actual political discourse.
