Climate change and social inequality in the Andean region

The complex interaction between energy, water and food security.

October 26 Thursday

October 26 - 27, 2017

Lima, Perú

The event is organized by the Program EKLA-KAS, the Program trAndeS (Postgraduate Program for Sustainable Development and Social Inequalities in the Andean region) – a joint initiative between the FU Berlin and PUCP – and the Instituto de Montaña.

Also available in Deutsch, Español

The workshop aims to address issues of energy, water and food security in the Andean region (the mountainous region) from a perspective that includes both climate change and strong social inequalities as background factors.

Furthermore, we propose a nexus perspective that focuses on the multiple relationships between the three areas - water, energy and food – and in the different scales involved in the formulation and implementation of integrated policies.
