Politics and Environment

A workshop on politics and the environment was organized in collaboration with the Political Science Department of the University of Ghana, Legon. Among contemporary issues, Ebola emerged as a serious threat to political development in Africa. Speakers include Dr. Kofi Bonney a virologist from Nuguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research. Traditional Authorities and the Environment

National House of Chiefs

Together with the National House of Chiefs, a workshop with the theme Traditional Authorities and the Environment was realized from the 16th-18th October 2014. The subject of the role of Traditional Authorities to contribute to environmental management especially with the outbreak of Ebola which the State is unable to contain was topical; the need for Traditional Authorities which represent the people across the country to have firsthand information and discuss issues on Ebola was very critical.

Mapping of Environmental and Climate Change Projects in Ghana

Together with the Private Enterprise Federation, a workshop was organized to collage views on the mapping of Environmental and Climate Change Projects in Ghana. The workshop sort to serve as a momentum to engage the various stakeholders to help produce real data and an information hub which will inform private sector decisions and encourage real investments by businesses. The workshop was chaired by Prof. Nii Ardey Codjoe, Dir. RIPS, UG Legon.

A round table discussion organized in colloboration with the Institute of Green Growth Solutions in response to the current energy challanges faced by the country and in pursuance of the government of Ghana's goal to ensure reliable, affordable and universally accessible energy services in a sustainable manner for stakeholds, indstries and export by 2020, ten years ahead of UN's goal of sustainable energy for all (SE4ALL0 by 2030. Social Accountability

In cooperation with the Ghana Trade Union of Traders (GUTA) KAS organised and implemented a workshop on the topic “Social Accountability” from the 26th until 30th of August. The workshop, which took place in Busunya and Jema in the Brong-Ahafo region, was attended by 186 persons of civil society. more…
