Adressing Climate Change
Workshop for Traditional Leaders in the Upper West Region
In the northern parts of Ghana, climate change has already resulted in severe draughts in the dry season as well as floods during the rainy season. These contribute to high temperatures, influx of pests and diseases resulting in the loss of human life and property. Today, the effect of climate change is being felt all over Ghana, but more especially in the north, which is the food basket of the country. Therefore, KAS and CIKOD organized a two days programme in Wa to educate Traditional Leaders of the Upper West Region on Climate Change Adaptation and its impact on food security. more…

The Workshop for Traditional Leaders took place on the 7th July 2011 in Wa, the regional capital of Upper West. Functioning as a sponsor, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the partner organization Centre for Indigenous Knowledge and Organisation for Development (CIKOD) welcomed about 40 traditional leaders from the Upper West Region who actively engaged themselves in the topic of “Women and Community Development.” more…
