The KAS and the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies (IPCS) are undertaking a project on countering terrorism together with the "Consortium of South Asian Think Tanks" (COSATT, one Think Tank from each SAARC country).

Preliminary meetings were held in Kathmandu/Nepal and in New Delhi 2009 - now the final conference is likely to be held in Dhaka/Bangladesh to present the COSATT results. COSATT evolves a common policy agenda for all SAARC countries on measures to counter terrorism in the region. It is strongly recommended that this agreed and joint proposal from the COSATT will be given into the deliberations of the SAARC Summit this year in Bhutan.
