The ADB Annual Meeting 2016 in Frankfurt

On October 5th, the Liaison Office India of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) organized an expert round table discussion in run-up to the Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) 2016 in Frankfurt. Main speaker was Hans-Joachim Fuchtel, Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, Member of the German Parliament, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank, as well as German Governor for the Asian Development Bank.

High-ranking representatives of development banks, as well as private and state-owned banks were invited to the event, which was held in the FICCI Federation House. Following the welcoming remarks by Dr Jyotsna Suri, President of FICCI, State Secretary Fuchtel discussed, among others, the role of development banks in the financing of small and medium enterprises. Following the presentation, the participants had the opportunity to debate the subject, chaired by Sidharth Birla, Immediate Past President of FICCI.
