Experts' Meetings with Dr. Ulrich Schlie

On 27 March 2013 the KAS Japan Office supported by the Diet Members Council for Comprehensive Security and the Tokyo Foundation hosted two experts' meetings with Dr. Ulrich Schlie, Director General Security and Defence Policy at the Federal Ministry of Defence, as well as Japanese members of parliament, the military and security policy experts and advisors. Experts' Meeting with Elmar Brok

On 27 March 2013 the KAS Japan Office in coordination with the Delegation of the European Union in Japan and supported by the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) organized an Experts' Meeting with Mr. Elmar Brok, MEP, Chairman of the EP Committe on Foreign Affairs, together with high ranking foreign policy experts and Japanese government representatives. Trilateral Symposium

Japan, India and Germany in a Changing World

On 26 March 2013, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in cooperation with the Institute for International Policy Studies and the Japanese-German Center Berlin held a trilateral symposium on "Japan, India and Germany in a Changing World" at the Nippon Foundation Bldg with a number of high ranking speakers including parliamentarians, former ministers, state secretaries and other top officials as well as private sector representatives and well-known scientific experts from all three countries. more…

Developments in the Constitutional Law of Germany and Japan

Concluding his visit to Japan, the Deputy Chairman of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group on 08 March 2013 took part in another closed experts' meeting organized by the KAS Japan Office. At the beginning of a visit to Japan by the Deputy Chairman of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group, Dr. Guenter Krings, the KAS Japan Office hosted a closed experts' meeting with a selected group of constitutional law experts, as well as representatives of parliament and government. Experts’ Meeting with Michael Meister

How did Germany overcome the economic crisis after 2001 and simultaneously cosolidate its budget?

On the last day of his visit to Japan the Vice-Chairman of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group, Dr. Michael Meister, participated in an experts’ meeting of the KAS Japan Office on 11 February 2013 in Osaka, where Dr. Meister meet with high ranking financial experts, economists and policy advisors from the region as well as representatives of the German Consulate-General and discussed the German measures to overcome the recent financial and economic crises.

German experiences with economic growth programs under the constraints of budget consolidation

Together with the Kwansei Gakuin University and ist Vice-President, HE Prof. Takahiro Shinyo, former Ambassador of Japan to Germany, the KAS Japan Office invited for an experts’ meeting with the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group Vice-Chariman on 11 February 2013. Dr. Meister welcomed this opportunity for an exchange with leading economists and financial experts of the distinguished university on current questions in the field of German and Japanese budget and economic policy.
