PROMOTING KNOWLEDGE OF THE CONCEPTS OF HUMAN RIGHTS

In August and September 2014, the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Jordan Office organized six two-day training workshops in cooperation with The Reference for Development and Training Foundation (RDTF) in six different governorates of Jordan to train the youth on human rights. Christians and Arab Spring 2

As a result of the joint conference between KAS Jordan and Al Quds Center for Political Studies entitled “Christians and Arab Spring 2” on 22nd& 23rd November 2014, Participants from six Arab countries released Amman declaration which is a “Roadmap for a better Future for Christians in Arab Countries” in addition to urgent appeal regarding the special case of Syrian and Iraqi Christians, both documents are already distributed to most of Arab and western embassies and international organizations. more…

“Violence at Jordanian Universities: Reasons and Solutions”

Jordan has recently witnessed a growing number of violent conflicts among its youth. To prevent a spiral of violence, trigger and causes of the increasing phenomena of violence must be identified. “The Role of Municipal Councils in Local Development in Jordan”

Municipal councils in Jordan play only a marginal role in the development of communities which is mainly the result of a missing basis of communication between the councils and the communities. The participation of the communities has to be strengthened in order to achieve development and sustainability. In this context, KAS Jordan and MOSSAWAH Center conducted three round table discussions, entitled “The Role of Municipal Councils in Local Development in Jordan”, in Irbid, Mafraq and Zarqa. more…
