Latvian society is negative towards immigration: according to Eurobarometer survey of spring 2017, 43% are against immigration from other EU member states, 82% - against immigration from third countries, and only 9% see the benefits of immigration.

In partnership with and supported by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and "Europe for Citizens" Programme of the European Commission the PROVIDUS Public Policy Forum hosts two panel discussion on migration in Latvia.

The Opening statement will be given by Dr. Aija Lulle (Post-doctoral Researcher at the University of Sussex (UK) and the University of Eastern Finland)on Migration and competitiveness.

The first Panel Discussion will analyze the Successes and Failures of Policies looking at cases in Germany, Estonia and Latvia.

The second panel discussion "Migration - Lifeline of Innovation" will discuss the benefits of migration.
