The book "The Rise of Populism: Lessons for the European Union and the United States of America" is a cooperation of scientist from Latvia, Germany, France, Great Britain and the USA.

The event has been organized by the Centre for East European Studies supported by the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation and the European People´s Party Group in the European Parliament.

The book is a fusion of different articles about populism in Germany, France, Latvia, Greece, Great Britain and the USA. The scientist have analyzed populism from different kind of views by looking at realistic examples from their home countries.

The speakers will be Dr. Ilze Balcere and Dr. Florian Hartleb, both authors of the book and Dr. Andris Pabriks, one of the editors.

They will give insight in the development of the book and conclusions on populism.

After the book presentation the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions. The event will be presented by Maris Cepuritis (Centre for East European Studies) and will be held in English.
