The topic of this year summer academy is "Implementation of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region: Theory and Practice". The aim is to gather academics, politicians, project managers for discussion on sustainable development in the region.

The European Parliament together with the European Commission launched the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. The Strategy focuses on four main areas: environment, economy, accessibility and security. The strategy is the important paper for the region in order to force forward the closer and sustainable cooperation between the countries in the region.
Therefore KAF, JKD and EDUCATIO have chosen the topic on Baltic Sea Strategy as the topic for their Annual International Summer Academy on July 29 - August 1, 2010 in Klaipeda. The Participants from the Baltic Sea Countries, Germany, Poland and Belarus will gather round the table to discuss the pros and cons of the strategy, challenges of the 21st Century for the region as well as to have a closer look at the details of te EU Strategy.
