Taha Hussein (1889 – 1973) was one of the most influential 20th century Egyptian writers. Now for the first time his autobiographical novel is available in the Malaysian language. The autobiography is divided into three parts – his childhood in Egypt, his days as a student in Al-Azhar and his accounts of his experience in Sorbonne, France.
