Konrad Adenauer Asian Center for Journalism (ACFJ)
The Konrad Adenauer Asian Center for Journalism at the Ateneo de Manila University, also known as ACFJ, is dedicated to the promotion of excellence in journalism in Southeast Asia. Inaugurated in June 2000 with the help of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, ACFJ aims to foster a free, viable and responsible press that will nurture the public discourse essential to an informed practice of citizenship and democracy. Its three main priorities are: to promote excellence and professionalism in journalism, to ensure continuing professional growth of Southeast Asian journalists through training and education and to foster unity among Southeast Asian nations. Apart from offering onsite seminars and workshops, ACFJ also offers a master's degree in journalism, diploma courses in online and radio journalism, and short courses in investigative reporting, media and politics and similar topics. It is also set to launch a diploma course in photojournalism.

The Statesman Print Journalism School (SPJS)
The Statesman Print Journalism School was set up in 2008 as a not-for-profit body by the C.R. Irani Foundation and is supported by the India Office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (http://www.kas.de/indien/en/). The school is directly attached to the Statesman’s editorial offices to facilitate hands-on training. The courses and seminars for the journalism students are based on a continually updated curriculum. Basic techniques of journalism are imparted at the school along with methods of interpretation and analysis for making the students aware of broader political, social and economic dimensions. The faculty consists of journalists from the Statesman and other media institutions as well as experts in law, finance and science.

The Statesman
The Statesman is one of India's oldest English newspapers. It was founded in Kolkata in 1875 and is directly descended from The Friend of India (founded 1818). The Englishman (founded 1821) was merged with The Statesman in 1934. The Delhi edition of The Statesman began publication in 1931. The Statesman Weekly is a compendium of news and views from the Kolkata and Delhi editions. Printed on airmail paper, it is popular with readers outside India. The Statesman (average weekday circulation approximately 180,000) is a leading English newspaper in West Bengal. The Sunday Statesman has a circulation of 230,000.
