EU's leadership in global climate action

On 11 October a high-level group of international climate and energy experts gathered at the Representation of NRW to discuss the future of EU's climate action. The event´s key-note was held by Miguel Arias Cañete, Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy. The two panels gave an excellent overview of the European and international state of affairs with regards to discussions about emission reductions, global climate action and economic competitiveness in preview of the COP24 in Poland.

The Role of Religious Actors in Conflict Prevention

On 9 October 2018 the MNED together with Brot für die Welt organised a parliamentary discussion with Mr Gahler, Chair of the Delegation with the Pan-African Parliament and Mr Hölvényi, Co-Chair of the Working Group on Intercultural and Religious Dialogue. Two religious actors from Cameroon gave an overview regarding the state and importance of religious actors in conflict management in the context of the current political situation in Cameroon and after the presidential elections of 7 October.

Dinner event with Mr Gunnar Wiegand

We had the pleasure to host a dinner with Gunnar Wiegand, Managing Director for Asia and Pacific at the European External Action Service on Monday evening at the Steigenberger Wiltcher’s Hotel. Mr Wiegand gave an excellent speech on the Russia-China-EU relations followed by an exciting discussion with experts from Brussels, Hong Kong, Beijing, Moscow, Minsk, Warsaw, Bratislava, Thessaloniki and Podgorica.



The Multinational Development Policy Dialogue of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung shapes the foundations’ dialogue with the EU and NATO and enriches the consultation processes with the European Institutions with its experiences and expertise resulting from its worldwide cooperation activities as well as advocates for the priorities of German development policy.
