Chinese Delegation meets Mr. Klaus Welle, Secretary General of the European Parliament

On 04-05 December a delegation of the Communist Party of China visited Brussels for a number of meetings with representatives of the European People's Party and of the European Institutions. The talks focused on the current political, economic and social developments in China, Europe and Germany.

KAS-EcoPeace delegation presents WEN study at EU Institutions

From 26.-28.11.2017 the MNED hosted a KAS Palestinian Territories office´ delegation, including high-level representatives from the Israeli ministry for economic development cooperation and the Palestinian Water Authority as well as the Jordanian private sector. The group around Marc Frings, Head of KAS Palestine Offices and the directors of KAS partner EcoPeace Middle East visited Brussels and Berlin to present the results of a feasibility study on a water energy nexus (WEN)for the Middle East.

Expert Discussion

A water energy nexus for the Middle East and the historic experience of the European Coal and Steel Community

On 28 November 2017 the MNED together with the EPP Group in the European Parliament, KAS Palestine Territories and EcoPeace Middle East organised the event "A water energy nexus for the Middle East and the historic experience of the European Coal and Steel Community". Hosted by MEP Elmar Brok, Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, the panelists presented the cross-country project of the water-energy-nexus, while Mr Brok called for immediate action in the Middle East.

Energising Africa - Financing Access to Energy

On the 22nd October 2017 the Multinational Development Policy Dialogue of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung hosted the dinner debate “Energising Africa – Financing Access to Energy”. This discussion brought together over thirty environmental experts, representatives from the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) and the Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme (RECP), CEOS, ambassadors and the Commission to discuss energy access goals and their implementation in urban and rural Africa.

Post-ISIS Ninewa: The European Response

On 6 June 2017, the Multinational Development Policy Dialogue of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, together with the Institute of International Law and Human Rights, No Peace Without Justice, Minority Rights Group International and the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization organized the high-level conference "Post-ISIS Ninewa: The European Response". On 30 May 2017 the President of the Colombian Conservative Party, Senator Hernán Andrade, and the representative of the Democratic Centre party, Senator Alfredo Rangel, participated in a dinner-debate organized by the Multinational Development Policy Dialogue of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. Chaired by MEP Dr. Peter Liese, the discussion in the European Parliament focused on the opportunities of the G7 initiative for climate change affected countries.
