Academy of Political Education (APE)

The Academy of Political Education (APE) was founded in 1993 and it is a scientific research organization capable of regularly publishing books, guidelines, various handbooks and carrying out sociological research surveys and organization that operates in the sectors of training, enlightenment, research analysis and publishing. In order to achieve its main goal, the academy operates with the following objectives: To promote the idea of honoring the human rights; to constitute an open society based on pluralism; to engrain democratic civil society and a legal government; to enhance parliamentary governance and the multi-party system; liberalize the social management system, improve the system and support decentralization. Since it was founded in 1993, the Academy of Political Education has been publishing “Shin toli” (New mirror) journal with the aim to organize theoretical and practical discussion on the pressing current issues faced in the democratic society. The journal is published every term and till date, there has been 69 issues published. This journal is one of the few scientific research journals published in Mongolia and it emphasizes reaching the public with democratic values. The APE has 6 branches in the provinces and these branch offices carry out trainings “Citizen-government relationship” for representatives of the Soum Citizen representative session, District Civil society session, and staffs from the Soum governor’s office; “Civil education” for the local herdsmen; “New generation citizen formation” for senior students from high schools; and “Democracy and education” for secondary school teachers. APE branches are in: Darkhan-Uul province, Dornod province, Dundgobi province, Ovorkhangai province, Khovd province and Khovsgol province. Regular operation in total of 6 provinces.
