President receives KAS-Representative
No end to democratization
Today the President of Mongolia Tsakhia Elbegdorj received Mr. Johannes D. Rey, representative of Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation to Mongolia. Mr. Rey introduced the foundation’s implementing projects in Mongolia and expressed his pleasure that the President’s visit to the Federal Republic of Germany was very successful.

Security-Conference
Policies of a country surrounded by super-powers: The Third-Neighbor Policy of Mongolia
On September 29th and 30th, the KAS had organized a Security-Conference in cooperation with the Mongolian Institute for Strategic Studies. The focus was on the current and further orientation of Mongolia´s foreign and security policy, especially concerning the Third-Neighbor-Policy. The German security expert and chairman of Politisch-Militärische Gesellschaft e.V. R. Thiele spoke about the role of the European Union as a Third Neighbor of Mongolia as well as the topic “Interlinked Security”.
Signing of Memorandum
Mongolian Minister, the director of the Cabinet Secretariat, Ch.Hurelbaatar and resident representative of Konrad-Adenauer Foundation, Johannes D. Rey, have signed a memorandum to extend the cooperation agreement of year 2007. As specified in the memorandum, the two parties will cooperate in improving independence of the provinces, decentralizing, and improving the education and knowledge of the employees in the local government.
New books presented to the Constitutional Court
Konrad-Adenauer Foundation’s resident representative Johannes D. Rey handed over 112 books purchased in Germany, Russia, and Mongolia to N. Jantsan, the Deputy Director of the Mongolian State Constitutional Court, on December 29th. These books comprised of standard legal professional books dedicated to enrich the Constitutional Court Library book fund and are related to Mongolian history, politics and economy. The library books are open for use by scholars, researchers and students.
