Also available in Deutsch
Dom Bernardo Filipe Governo, the bishop of Quelimane, declared that Armando Guebuza’s government is going to carry on with the “voting manipulation” adopted by Joaquim Chissano during the 18 years that he led the country. In an interview to a weekly publication, the clergyman looks back at the national political life, depicting the difficult years right after National independence, the tough period as a communist regime, the restriction of liberties, and the devastating war that left the country in tragic conditions. Regarding today’s politics, the catholic clergyman accuses the Mozambican Technical Secretariat for Election Administration (STAE) of being a state organ in the service of Frelimo party.
