Handover of Project Vehicle
EU Project now equipped with a car
The implementers of the EU co-funded Project "My rights as a Namibian Woman and Citzen", Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation and Women's Action for Development yesterday received their project vehicle at the "Europe House" from the hands of the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Namibia, H.E. Raul Fuentes-Milani. The car will serve as a means of transport for trainers and participants in the said project troughout the country.

On wendesday, 7th September, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung togehter with their longstanding partner WAD launched the EU-confinanced programme "My rights as a Womand and Namibian Citizen", implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Gender Equalitiy and Child Welfare, the Law Faculty of UNAM and the Legal Assistance Centre (LAC).

Namibian Labour Lexicon Volume 2
The Minister of Labour and social Welfare launched the Namibian Labour Lexicon Volume 2 (Revised Edition) in the presence of many experts and representatives from the media. The publication transformed the most important contents and concepts from the new Labour Act, which was gazetted in 2007 and implemented only end of November 2008, in a very reader friendly and very practical form. New Partnership
KAS signs Agreement of Cooperation with the Magistrates Commission
KAS has signed an agreement with the Magistrates Commission of Namibia to cooperate in the capacity building and training of magistrates. At the signing ceremony equipment (Laptop, Printer etc.) was handed over to the Commission to effectively implement the training programs. The Chairman of the Commission, Justice Elton Hoff and Dr. A. Boesl from KAS expressed interest in a long standing co-operation for the benefit of the judiciary and justice in Namibia.

Monitoring Regional Integration in Southern Africa Yearbook 2010
Abstracts are invited on the topics: The Tripartite FTA: SADC–EAC & COMESA SACU and SADC Developments Politics and Governance, Peace and Security External Relations and Regional Integration et al. Abstracts should be sent to KAS or Tralac. Authors will be notified by 30 October 2010 and will get guidelines for preparation of the papers. First drafts (max 7000 words) to be submitted by 30 November 2010, final papers (max. 9000words) to be submitted by 30 January 2011. Launch April/May 2011.
Constitution of Namibia
New Edition of the Constitution including the amendment 2010
The constitution of Namibia has been amended in 1998 and again in May 2010. The Office of the Ombudsman has - in partnership with KAS - published a new edition of the English and Afrikaans version of the constitution. The publication includes the amendments in the text of the constitution. Copies of the new edition will be distributed through various institutions. Free copies of the constitution can be obtained at the Office of the Ombudsman and at the KAS offices.
