Women continue to be affected more and more by conditions of poverty because poverty is linked to women’s inequality in society. Women make up the majority in terms of unemployment, and are treated unfairly by society as well as in their home environments. Women bear almost all responsibility for meeting basic needs of the family, yet they are systematically denied the resources they need to fulfil this responsibility.
