The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) is a Political Foundation of the Federal Republic of Germany linked with the currently ruling CDU party.

The KAS is committed to fostering democracy and the rule of law, to implementing social and market-economic structures and to promoting human rights. Currently the KAS hosts more than 200 projects in around 120 countries on four continents with 81 field offices.

On September 27, 2009, the elections for the 17th Federal German Bundestag (German Federal Parliament) will take place. Moreover, 2009 is the year of important anniversaries of younger German history: 60 years Basic Constitutional Law, 20 years fall of the Berlin Wall and therein included 40 years of German division. Paying to these occasions tribute, we arrange a seminar on the “60-20 anniversary & Federal Elections in Germany” for decision makers from Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Additionally, we organize a public viewing to inform our partners, colleagues and friends first hand about the final results and outcomes of the elections in Germany. State Secretary Klaus-Juergen Hedrich who was a Member of Parliament for more than two decades will be the moderator of the event. The public viewing will be flanked by a dinner reception which will be opened by H.E. Dr. Koch, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany.
