Seminar on Constitution Day 2018

Each year Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services (PIPS) organises the Seminar on Constitution Day in collaboration with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung to highlight the significance of the Constitution among citizens particularly the youth.

The Seminar 2018 marked the fifth annual event to commemorate the 45th Anniversary of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The Seminar brings together Members of the National Parliament, faculty and students from various higher educational institutions and members of civil society. The participants included representatives from Iqra University Islamabad Campus, International Islamic University, Arid Agriculture University, Riphah School of Public Policy, and Bahria University. Representatives from National Parliament, and development partners including British Council also attended the Seminar.

The speaker and participants stated, the rule of law and strong democratic institutions cannot be assured without the supremacy of the constitution. The importance of the social contract of Pakistani society was underscored, a link between especially the young and their representatives in the National Parliament was provided.
