On October 10, 2011 a meeting of the Jerusalem Book Club took place with the support of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Ramallah. The Book Club is a joint project of the Schmidt´s Girls College in East Jerusalem and the Academy of Music and Dance in West Jerusalem. It has the theme “Reading is Understanding”.
Legal Encounter
“Case Law on Labor Law: article (41)”
The Institute of Law in Birzeit University organized, with support from Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, a legal encounter on “Case Law on Labor Law: article (41)”, on 28 September 2011 with contribution of His Honor, Judge Fawaz Attiyah, President of Jericho District Court, with the presence of a large number of representatives of the private sector institutions and the Palestinian Ministry of Labor in addition to a number of attorneys.

“Individual and Collective Contract in the Palestinian Labor Law”
The Institute of Law - Birzeit University, in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, organized a legal encounter on “The Individual and Collective Contract in the Palestinian Labor Law”. The encounter took place on 19 September 2001 in Gaza City and was attended by Mr. Karem Nashwan, Director of Center for Democracy and Workers’ Rights.
The Institute of Law completes a series of Training Sessions on Local Elections
As part of the project entitled “ Enhancing Democracy: Local Elections”, funded by Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Ramallah, the Institute of Law at Birzeit University has completed eight training sessions covering different parts of the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

The European Union: Unique Phenomenon or relevant Model?
On Thursday, the 29th of September, a lecture entitled “Political Development of the European Union” was being held by Marc Franco, ambassador of the European Union in Cairo. The lecture is part of the module „THE EUROPEAN UNION: UNIQUE PHENOMENON OR RELEVANT MODEL?“, instructed by Professor Roger Heacock, within the course „International Studies“. The module is a collaboration between the Abu Lughod Institute for International Studies (ALIIS) and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.

Conclusion of the training program Democracy in the Palestinian Institutions and the Electoral system
The training program “Democracy in the Palestinian Institutions and the Electoral system” was held by the Institute of Community Partnership – ICP in cooperation with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Ramallah, funded by the German Development Agency – GIZ. The training program took place in Surif, Karma, Ramadeen; southern Hebron on Saturday September 26, 2011.
