MA and PhD Scholarship Program for Palestinians


The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) offers postgraduate (M.A.) scholarships in Palestine and neighboring countries such as Israel, Jordan, Egypt, and Lebanon. This scholarship program targets graduates in fields related to KAS’s global mission and vision (for example, Political Science, Economics, International Relations, Political Economy, Law, Middle Eastern Studies, Gender Studies, Literature, Media Studies, Business, History, etc.). This list serves as an example of the different fields; however, do not feel obliged to limit yourself to these examples. We encourage potential applicants to think outside the box.

  • The scholarship covers postgraduate studies at universities for a maximum two years.


  • Applicants must be Palestinian nationals or Palestinian residents of East Jerusalem.
  • The scholarship covers only M.A. graduate studies.
  • The applicants must be active in a social or political context.
  • The applicants must have an outstanding academic undergraduate record (ideally 80% or higher).
  • The program only considers students up to 35 years of age.
  • The scholarship covers university fees as well as a monthly stipend that should cover related expenses. The monthly stipend is not a fixed amount and depends on the circumstances of each successful applicant. Also, applicants who are employed regularly and for the duration of their studies are not eligible to receive a monthly stipend.

Required Documents

  • A completed application form (EIZ KAS Application Form).
  • Two recent passport photos.
  • A detailed CV.
  • A motivation letter containing:

a. A description of the M.A. program (aim, content) and reason for choosing it.

b. Intended plans/career after graduation.

  • Accredited copies of certificates (university diploma).
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • A letter of acceptance from the university (applicants who do not have an acceptance letter will only be given a conditional offer).
  • Detailed information about the start date, duration and costs of the intended degree program.

Applications must be submitted via E-Mail to in the following format:

1. Subject line: Scholarship Application_Name of Applicant (Example: Scholarship Application_Noor Awad)

2. Documents must be submitted as a PDF and named in the following format: FirstName LastName_Name of Document (Example: Noor Awad_CV)

The application must be submitted no later than July 31, 2016 (by 4:30pm local time).
