Water & Energy Nexus pre-feasibility study

Regional Stability through positive interdependencies

The pre-feasibility study is the final product of a three-years project carried out by KAS and EcoPeace Middle East. The study proposes a the water-energy exchange in which Israel and Gaza exchange desalinated water from the Mediterranean coast with renewable energies from the deserts of Jordan. The findings show that such an exchange is technically feasible and potentially offers substantial economic, environmental and geo-political benefits to each of the parties. more…

On December 21, 2017, DIYAR and KAS Ramallah presented the study "Palestinian Christians: Emigration, Displacement and Diaspora". The publication builds partly on a survey among Christians and Muslims. As the first of its kind, the survey examines in detail the causes of Christian migration. Water and Energy as drivers for regional cooperation

Study and Dialogue Program in Brussels and Berlin

In the framework of a KAS study and dialogue program, a joint delegation of Jordanian, Palestinian and Israeli representatives travelled from November 26. to December 02. to Brussels and Berlin. The delegation used this opportunity to introduce European and German stakeholders to the findings of a pre-feasibility study and to secure their institutional, political and financial support for necessary follow up projects. The delegation encountered a lot of interest for the out-of-the-box approach and received valuable impulses for the continuation of their efforts. more…

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung invited in the framework of a Study and Dialogue Program comprising Israeli, Palestinian and Jordanian participants to a brunch discussion in the KAS Academy in Berlin. The delegation introduced the findings of a pre-feasibility study that analyzed the prospect of a large scale regional exchange of desalinated water from the Mediterranean coast with renewable energies from the deserts of Jordan. more…
