A guidepost for newly-elected local officials
After winning the May 2010 elections, officials are faced with the reality of governing their localities. Dr. Gaudioso Sosmeña, Jr., Chairman of the Local Government Development Foundation wrote a guidepost on topics ranging from the traditional fields of political participation and fiscal management to the cutting edge issues of political audit, performance measures, accountability and battling draft and corruption. Capacity Building on Geographic Information Systems for Local Government Units
Local government officials in Misamis Oriental, Northern Mindanao are afforded the opportunity to apply an effective Geographic Information Systems to their operations as well as coordinate with neighboring local government units through the capacity building and comprehensive planning session organized and facilitated by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung partner, the Local Government Development Foundation.
DELGOSEA Midterm Conference - Stakeholders from all Countries Coming Together
DELGOSEA's (Partnership for Democratic Local Governance in Southeast Asia) midterm conference took place on the Indonesian island of Batam from 27 - 28 September. It provided a great opportunity for all actors involved in the project to get together and take stock. Nearly 140 representatives of both pilot and best practice cities, members of LGAs, government bodies, speakers from the EU and ASEAN found plenty to talk about, both in plenary sessions and working groups.
