Social Market Economy Principles and Implementation: Economic Policy A to Z - Now Available
The book was officially launched last May 19, 2009 at the Manila Peninsula hotel during a conference organized by the Asian Institute of Management Policy Center (APC) and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.
Social Market Economy is well-known as the basis for the “German economic miracle” that took place in the 1950s and is responsible for the successful integration of East Germany into the liberal, market-oriented and democratic order of the West.
In addition to that, part of the rebuilding after World War II was the economic and currency reform that lead to the foundations of a Social Market Economy. As stated in the Jena Manifesto for the Renewal of the Social Market Economy, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung has been committed to “the aim of the Social Market Economy...a healthy economy which secures the existence of the whole population and enables each individual to share in the national product in accordance with their achievement.”
Ethics, Principles and Policies of Social Market Economy are considered highly relevant today, especially for the creation of a prosperous economy with social justice and a worldwide order for trade, prosperity and peace.
This encyclopedia on Social Market Economy is a compilation of short articles to clarify the concept of Social Market Economy in terms of economic and social policy and its implementation.
The book is available at the KAS office.
