AFGHAN-PAKISTANI DIALOGUE 2010
Delegation from Pakistan will travel to Kabul
A delegation of Pakistani decission makers will soon travel at invitation of the KAS to Kabul to carry on political conversations. In the foreground stands the Afghan-Pakistani dialogue. Without improved regional cooperation, in particular between Afghanistan and Pakistan, there will be no peace in Afghanistan, Federal Chancellor Merkel sent a reminder in her latest governmental declaration. The dialogue programme takes up this point. (Feb. 17, 2010)

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
German Ambassador meets Parliamentary Friendship Group
The German friendship group in the Pakistani parliament met on the 13.01.2010 the German ambassador in Pakistan, Dr. Michael Koch. The group will travel in May, 2010 for the first time at invitation of the Konrad's Adenauer's foundation to Germany to exchange views and standpoints with representatives of the German Bundestag and government officials. The group encloses about 30 members and was established on an initiative of the KAS and the Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services. (Jan. 18, 2010)

INTERNATIONALE KOOPERATION
Die Geschichte einer indisch-pakistanisch-deutschen Einwanderung
Das Buch "Grünkohl & Curry" von Spiegelsüdasienkorrespondent Hasnain Niels Kazim erzählt die Geschichte einer Einwanderung. Auf der Spur nach den eigenen Wurzeln, setzt sich der Autor mit der neuen wie alten Heimat auseinander und fokussiert sich auf die deutsch-pakistanischen Bezieheungen. Der Autor kommt zu der Erkenntnis, dass ein Pass nicht viel über eine Identität auszusagen vermag. Zuhause ist seiner Ansciht nach da, wo das Herz gerade ist. Die Lesung fand vor rund 40 Gästen statt. (Oct. 30, 2009)

INTERNATIONALE ZUSAMMENARBEIT
Deutsche Parlamentarische Freundschaftsgruppe in Pakistan nimmt Arbeit auf
Erstmalig hat sich jetzt die neugegründete Deutsche Parlamentarische Freundschaftsgruppe des pakistanischen Parlaments getroffen. Die Gruppe umfasst rund 30 Mitglieder und beruht auf einer Initiative der KAS und dem Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services. Ausdrücklich lobten die Teilnehmer bei dem Treffen, das Engagement der KAS bei der Gründung der Gruppe. (Oct. 8, 2009)

NATIONALFEIERTAG
Deutschland lädt ein
Der Tag der Deutschen Einheit am 3. Oktober ist laut Einigungsvertrag seit 1990 Deutschlands Nationalfeiertag, da an diesem Datum die Deutsche Wiedervereinigung vollzogen wurde. Der 3. Oktober ist ein gesetzlicher Feiertag der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. In Pakistan wurde der deutsche Nationalfeiertag am 06.10.2009 in der Residenz des deutschen Botschafters mit rund 600 Gästen zelebriert. Die KAS hat in diesem Rahmen ihre Projekte und Partner vorstellen können. (Oct. 6, 2009)
