Rey Teves Dies of Pneumonia, age 65
The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung would like to extend its deepest condolences to the family of Rey Magno Teves, who passed away last Nov. 12, 2009 of acute pneumonia.
Teves was a partner of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung for almost 40 years in its efforts to build a strong Christian-Democratic movement. He also served as the executive director of the Technical Assistance Centre for the Development of Rural and Urban Poor, based in Davao City and an institutional partner of KAS for more than 25 years.
He also headed numerous initiatives pushing for peace and development in his native Mindanao, including advocacies for establishing federalism, respecting human rights, improving governance, and providing assistance to small and medium enterprises.
The Foundation mourns his passing and is honoured to have worked with this man, whose relentless passion and unwavering commitment will prove to be a great loss to the Mindanao community.
