Welcome
The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) started to set in the Baltic States beginning from the peaceful independence movement against the Soviet regime in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
Our labour is coordinated by our office in Riga which works in company with our local branches in Tallinn and Vilnius. The KAS assists the three Baltic States with the process of integration into NATO and EU and with projecting development of stable democratic social and political order. »

Jubiläen von Einheit und Freiheit
Litauen feiert 20. Jahrestag der Wiederherstellung seiner Unabhängigkeit
Am 11.3.1990 erklärte Litauen als erste der Sowjetrepubliken seine Unabhängigkeit. Der Oberste Rat Litauens stimmte für die „Erklärung über die Wiederherstellung der Unabhängigkeit des litauischen Staates“. Nach deren Verkündung wandte sich das Land an die Völker der Welt und erbat Unterstützung sowie Solidarität. Trotz anfänglichen Drucks aus Moskau erkannte die Weltgemeinschaft nach dem gescheiterten Putsch gegen Gorbatschow im August 1991 endgültig die wiederhergestellte Unabhängigkeit an. (Mar. 11, 2010)

Lecture
Together with Kolping Society we invite on Tuesday, March 9, to the lecture “Christian image of mankind. Guide for society and politics” with Prof. Dr. Rudolf Uertz, Catholic University Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, KAS St. Augustin. The participants will not only have the chance to hear a lecture on Christian teaching as a guideline for society, but also to ask questions and discuss with the professor. Read more... Election simulation workshop
In the context of the next Local Elections in Lithuania in February 2011 the KAS together with the League of Young Conservatives starts the project “EcoSim Elections”. The KAF together with the Institute of democratic politics invites on February 10, 2010 to participate at the pannel discussion "Will we have independent and objective Massmedia in Lithuania?".
