VOTING AN CAMPAIGNING FOR OUR FUTURE

The intention of this handbook aims to increase the general knowledge of the electoral process in Afghanistan. One can learn about the basic rights, roles and responsibilities of citizenship within a representative democracy. It provides information particular relevant not only for broad public and potential and actual candidates, but also for journalists and also government officials. ELECTION HANDBOOK
Parliamentary Elections 2010

The KAS recently published a handbook named "Elections in Afghanistan”. The intention of this handbook is to increase the general knowledge regarding the election process. It provides particular and relevant information not only for the public and candidates, but also for journalists and government officials. The launching ceremony will be held on 2nd -3rd and 9th-10th of December 2009 at the National Centre for Policy Research (NCPR). (Dec. 3, 2009)

ANTI CORRUPTION
Roundtable with CIPE

The NCPR held in cooperation with the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) a roundtable on 23rd of November 2009 at Pamir Hall of the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul. The roundtable was on “Governance and Corruption - challenges and solutions". More than 75 parliamentarians, academics, government officials, and journalists took part in the event. (Nov. 24, 2009)

NCPR GOES PARLIAMENT 2009
Capacity Building for Parliamentarians

The NCPR, a KAS partner in Afghanistan, has launched a capacity building course on 4th of October 2009 for 15 selected Parliamentarians. The course is financed by the Centre for International Private Enterprise. The topics taught were Market Economy, good governance, private property and economic development, anti-corruption, tax policy, trade and globalization, entrepreneurship and the Role of Business in society. This course lasts for 12 weeks and will be held two days a week. (Oct. 13, 2009)

CAPACITY BUILDING
GARF Training Program in Kabul and Provinces

The NCPR has held a Research Methodology seminar from 27th of September 2009 for around 40 participants including lecturers and top students of six social sciences faculties of Kabul University at its centre. The program will last five weeks and all methods of a Scientific Research will be taught by experts. Additionally the NCPR will organize a GARF training for 6 consecutive days for 35 lecturers and top students of Nangarhar University from 18th of October 2009. (Oct. 5, 2009)
