The first European-African Broadcasters conference was held in Magalisberg, South Africa.
The workshop brought together Africa’s most successful broadcaster the South African Broadcasting Corporation - SABC and Germany’s Deutsche Welle - DW to discuss the role of Public Broadcasters and Elections. This is ahead of South Africa’s National and Provincial elections to be held on 22 April 2009 and the German Parliamentary Elections – also in 2009. (Mar. 14, 2009) »

SANEF, the South African National Editors’ Forum, a voluntary organization of senior journalists, editors and journalism trainers published, with the help of KAS media and others, an interesting book about how to become and stay an extraordinary editor.

The Wits Power Reporting Workshop (PRW) has become an important annual event on the African journalists conferencing calendar. For the fourth time investigative journalists from all over the continent gathered in Johannesburg to participate in an event that is a conference and training module in one. More than 600 journalists from all over Africa gathered at the beginning of September, as every year since 1997, in South Africa’s Grahamstown to participate in the annual Highway Africa Conference.
