The International Institute for Political Science of the Masaryk University (Mezinarodni politologicky ustav Masarykovy univerzity) was founded in 1990 as a centre for academic education, the main focus being European integration, Political Science, and international relations. These subjects had to be rebuilt after communism. Since the beginning of 1996 Dr Petr Fiala, a young and renowned political scientist, has been the chairman of the institute and head of the chair of political sciences at the faculty for social studies at the Masaryk University. The focus of the work of the partner institute lies in the area of academic and civil education, especially regarding the integration of the Czech Republic into the European Union. »

Agora Central Europe (hereafter referred to as Agora CE) is a Czech non-profit organisation founded in 1998 with the aim of helping to enhance communication between local governments, central government bodies and citizens. The founding of Agora CE was assisted by two the Dutch sister companies. Agora Central Europe’s general mission is to support democratic processes with the following objectives: 1.) Enhance communication and co-operation between citizens and municipal offices, 2.) Expand the possibilities of municipal offices to plan and make decisions and to involve citizens in these processes, 3.) Generate interest of citizens in community issues, 4.) Back the development of local democracy and assist in enhancing the political culture in the Czech Republic. »

European Values is a non-governmental, not-for-profit, pro-European think-tank which, trough education and research activities, works for the development of civil society and a healthy market environment. It was founded in 2005 and it stands for more democratic and effective European community, a liberal and competitive economy, the preservation of the heritage and values of Western civilization, the development of renewable resources and nuclear energy, a stronger European defence and a firm Trans-Atlantic partnership. Main national programmes are: regular public debates in the “European Club”, annual international conferences, and summer workshops for young experts. The international programme “European Values Network” is organized on the European level. »

EUTIS, o.p.s. is a non-governmental organisation founded in 2005. Its aim is to deepen knowledge about the European union on the one hand of Czech people and on the other hand of particular expertise groups. This is made either through workshops, seminars and conferences on particular european topics or through traineeship in Brussels and Strasbourg. EUTIS, o.p.s. in cooperation with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organises also european institutions' simulation for students from the whole Czech republic. »

The Institute for Structural Policy, IREAS, is a non-profit organization mainly focused on regional development and environmental issues. Studies and analyses are aimed at the impacts and the objectives of regional and environmental policies. IREAS also explores the potential of public-private partnerships and development of the civil society. IREAS creates project-oriented teams composed of its own and external experts from universities, scientific, research and professional organizations to address specific problems. Students of master and doctoral degrees from Czech and foreign universities intensively participate on studies and analyses. IREAS has a strong background in preparing and organizing educational programs, conferences and seminars. »

Founded just after the fall of the communist regime in Czechoslovakia, the Civic Institute carries on the spirit of the vibrant subculture of Czech anti-communist dissent from which it was born. The Civic Institute promotes ideas and principles necessary for free and stable democratic societies. The members of Civic Institute frequently appear in the media commenting on current issues. Since its foundation the Civic Institute has been perceived as the leading representative of conservative thought in post-Communist Czech society. Their opinion is valued by the media, while academia appreciates their role as educators in classical liberal and conservative thought, social policy and the role of religion in society. »

The Czech Bishops' Conference, founded by the Holy See, is a group of bishops of the Czech Republic who jointly exercise certain pastoral functions for the Christian faithful of their territory, especially through forms and programs of the apostolate fittingly adapted to the circumstances of time and place. As a body of all bishops, the Czech Bishops' Conference also represents the Catholic Church when negotiating with the State authorities or institutions in matters that do not concern a particular diocese. The Catholic Church in the Czech Republic serves in various fields and activities. Besides its spiritual offices, the Church participates in education and culture. Young people are offered many activities and much concern is given to families. Charity, care of the elderly and sick belongs to the basic characteristics of the Church activity from her beginning. The Church addresses people personally as well as through media. »

The Economic University Prague (Vysoka skola ekonomicka v Praze) was founded in 1956 and, with 14,000 students, has been the most important university for economical studies in the Czech Republic. The co-operation with the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation began after the "velvet revolution" in 1991. For some years this co-operation has concentrated on an interdisciplinary institute at the economic university, the Centre for European Studies. Our partner organization is mainly concerned with European issues and within the framework of seminars carries out guest lectures and seminars concerning European topics at the Faculty for International Relations. »
