Auflösung des Parlamentes und Verschiebung der Neuwahlen führen zur Abwertung Jordaniens im Freedom House Index Zu Beginn des Jahres 2010 wartete die jordanische Tageszeitung Jordan Times mit der brisanten Meldung auf, dass Jordanien im Ranking der renommierten US-amerikanischen Organisation Freedom House abgewertet wurde: Bis dato gehörte Jordanien zusammen mit Bahrain, Libanon, Kuwait und Marokko zu den wenigen arabischen Ländern, deren politische Verfasstheit wenigstens als „teilweise frei“ eingestuft wurde – Demokratien gibt es in der arabischen Welt nicht. Nun aber findet sich Jordanien in der Masse „unfreier“ Staaten im arabischen Vorderen Orient wieder. » By Martin Beck

Jan. 14, 2010 "Democracy in the Practice of the Arab Political Parties" Al-Quds Center for Political Studies in cooperation with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung published the book entitled "Democracy in the Practice of the Arab Political Parties". The book consists of papers of a regional workshop organized by Al-Quds Center for Political Studies in cooperation with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung on June 13, 2009 under the title: "Democracy in the Practice of the Arab Political Parties" with 62 participants. Among them are activists, academics, party leaders and consultants from six countries: Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Syria & Germany. »
