Graduation ceremony for the fifth generation of Leaders for Justice

On December 10 the graduation ceremony for the 5th generation of the Leaders for Justice program took place. The 17 participants were welcomed and congratulated by Werner Hans Lauk, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr. Valeriu Stoica, former Romanian Minister of Justice and Ms. Simona-Maya Teodoroiu, States Secretary within the Ministry of Justice. Final conference on the consolidation of rule of law in Romania

On the 9th of December the KAS RLPSEE, in partnership with Romanian NGO Expert Forum, organized the last conference from a series of six events taking place in main cities across the country. Conferences with the Asylum and Citizenship Committees of the Administration of the President of Bulgaria

On November 27 and 28, the RLP SEE of KAS in cooperation with the Asylum and Citizenship Committees of the Administration of the President of Bulgaria organized two conferences in Sofia which discussed the national and European legal framework on granting asylum and Bulgarian citizenship.

Klaus Iohannis: Without true rule of law there can be no democracy

The president-elect of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, was the guest of honor at a conference organized on November 26 by the RLP SEE of KAS in cooperation with the NGO CRPE and the British Embassy in Bucharest, at which the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) Sustainability Index was presented. In his speech, the president-elect sent out a clear message of his support for the fight against corruption. He also underscored that democracy cannot exist “without true rule of law”. more…

Ethics in the Moldovan justice system

On the 19th of November the conference “Rethinking ethics in justice”, organized by the Rule of Law Program South East Europe of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Moldova took place in Chisinau. The opening was attended by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Moldova, Oleg Efrim. Care Leavers-Same rights for everyone

On the 27th of October 2014, the RLP SEE in cooperation with the Scheherazade Foundation, organized a conference in Bucharest on the topic "Care Leavers-Same rights for everyone". The event was attended by several representatives of NGOs engaged in the work with young people leaving care, by reperesentatives of the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Protection and Elderly and several ambassadors.

between 22nd of October and the 25th of November, the One World Romania 2014 international documentary film festival dedicated to human rights goes On Tour! A number of 12 documentaries will be screened in 10 cities of Romania (Resita, Targoviste, Focsani, Targu Mures, Giurgiu, Miercurea Ciuc, Timisoara, Buzau, Ploiesti) and the Republic of Moldova (Chisinau). Study and dialog program for young legal professionals from Romania

Young legal professionals from Romania are now on a visit in Berlin upon the invitation of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. They will have the chance to have an exchange of experiences with representatives of organizations and institutions in the field of justice in Germany regarding specific problems, challenges and developments in their country as well as about common difficulties, which, Inter alia, are to be found within the framework of European law.

Selection of decision of the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany in Romanian

On the 6th of October, an updated Romanian translation of a selection of decisions of the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany was presented in Chisinau in cooperation with the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova. The guest of honor of the event was Dr. Sibylle Kessal-Wulf, judge at the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany, who held a lecture on the position of the Federal Constitutional Court in the national and international institutional constellations.
