This publication comprises the papers presented at the 4th Conference of Asian Constitutional Court Judges held on 29 – 30 November 2006 in Manila in cooperation with the Supreme Court of the Philippines.
Many if not all countries in this region are of multi-ethnic and / or multi-religious composition. It is the foremost task of the respective constitutions to give guidelines for a fair balance between the various interests of these groups of society. The topic is approached from different points of view with interesting and enlightening opinions. The book also includes summary reports on important decisions by the participating courts.
