The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Announces the KAS Energy Security Fellowship
The Fellowship is to be hosted at the European Centre for Energy and Resource Security (EUCERS) at King's College London. It will fund a research stay of 12-months for a European Union (EU) resident research fellow starting in September 2012.

Legal policy and justice reform in Croatia
The KAS RLPSEE organized between May 14-15 a conference in Dubrovnik focusing on "Legal policy and justice reform in Croatia". Invited to take part were the Deputy Chairman of CDU-/CSU-Parliamentary fraction Dr. Günter Krings, the members of the German Bundestag Dr. Stephan Harbarth, Dr. Jan-Marco Luczak, Prof. Dr. Patrick Sensburg, Ansgar Heveling and Ms. Landesministerin Barbara Richstein (MdL). The Croatian side was represented by Ana Lovrin (member of Sabor) and high-raking officials.

The Interaction of the National and European Legal Order

Justice in the trap of corruption and state-parties
Thorsten Geissler, the director of the Rule of Law Program South East Europe, was on the 25th of April in Belgrad as one of the main speakers at the conference "Justice in the trap of corruption and state-parties" organized by KAS Office in Serbia and Balkan Media Team, one of the our partner organisations in Serbia. Bulgaria
Meeting with German Delegation on justice reform in Bulgaria
On the 12th and 13th of April, Thorsten Geissler, Director of KAS-RLPSEE and Marco Arndt, Director of KAS Office in Bulgaria met with Jörg-Uwe Hahn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Integration and Europe of Hesse and Norbert Kartmann, President of the Landtag of Hesse. The main focus of the meetings was the reform of the justice system in Bulgaria.

Montenegrin Anti-discrimination Legislation and European Law Standards Seminar held in Becici (22-23 March)
The KAS-RLPSEE together with Center for Democracy and Human Rights (CEDEM) organized in Becici a seminar focusing on Montenegrin Discrimination Legislation and European Law Standards. Interventions were made - among others - by Vesna Medenica, President of the Supreme Court of Montenegro, Sarunas Adomavicius, Head of OSCE Mission to Montenegro, Zoran Pazin, Representative of Montenegro before the ECHR, the Ambassadors of United Kingdom and FR Germany to Montenegro. Film Festival
One World Romania 2012 starts today!
The International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival One World Romania 2012 starts today in Bucharest! Opening ceremony takes place in Scala Cinema at 19:00. Until Sunday, the festival will screen in 4 cinemas downtown Bucharest (Union , Eforie, Corso, NCCR), 50 new documentaries, 80 screenings, over 10 side-events, 25 guests from abroad and over 30 local experts to discuss with the audience after each projection. Press Conference of the 5th edition of One World Romania - International Film Festival dedicated to Human Rights (13-18 March, Bucharest)
The Czech Centre in Bucharest hosted today the press conference for the 4th edition of the One World Romania international human rights film festival. Mr. Thorsten Geissler, in his quality of director of KAS-RLPSEE and main partner of the event, emphasized the importance of bringing into the attention of the public a topic such as human rights, especelly in a country like Romania.

The fifth edition of the One World Romania film festival will bring to Bucharest more than 50 brand new human rights documentaries, as well as many directors, producers protagosnits or experts. The festival will take place from 13 to 18 of March in 4 central cinemas in Bucharest (Corso, Eforie, Union, NCCR).
