One World Romania
Fifth edition of the One World Romania international human rights documentary film festival, from 13 to 18 of March in Bucharest
The fifth edition of the One World Romania film festival will bring to Bucharest more than 50 brand new human rights documentaries, as well as many directors, producers protagosnits or experts. The festival will take place from 13 to 18 of March in 4 central cinemas in Bucharest (Corso, Eforie, Union, NCCR). Leaders for Justice 2012
Start in the third edition of the Leaders for Justice program for Romanian junior jurists
First training session within the 2012 edition of Leaders for Justice program took place between 16-19 of February in Sibiel. Under the motto "Vision and Creativity. Let the thinking begin!", the 20 participants had 3 intensive days with trainers Mihai Dragoi and Codru Vrabie. Also, Thorsten Geissler held a presentation on the work of the KAS-RLPSEE and discussed with the participants on the Romanian and German justice system. Second training will take place in between 8-11 of March in Sinaia.

KAS-RLPSEE activities in 2012
The KAS-RLP SEE will continue in 2012 to promote dialogue on rule of law issues in the region of South East Europe. Some of our traditional projects – such as the Leaders for Justice programm, One World Romania documentary film festival or the International Summer School Sarajevo – as well as new projects all over the region will be in our focus this year. Leaders for Justice 2011
Graduation ceremony for the second generation of Leaders for Justice
The 21st floor of the Intercontinental Hotel in Bucharest hosted yesterday evening a graduation ceremony for the second generation of the Leaders for Justice leadership programm for Romanian junior jurists. The 19 participants were welcomed and congratulated by Ms. Lidia Barac, States Secretary in the Romanian Ministry of Justice and Ms. Julia Gross, Deputy Head of Mission within the German Embassy in Bucharest, as well as by some of their trainers and speakers throughout the programm.

KAS-RLPSEE supports the "Moot Courts 2011 – Justice on an International Level" project of Bismun Romania
Taking place from 9-11 December at the Faculty of Law and the Court of Appeal, the Moot Courts 2011 project is implemented by BISMUN Romania envisages to give the participants the opportunity to implement their knowledge about international law, community law and human rights. The esimulation of international courts will give the participants the chance to act as states representatives or judges; within each court they will have to plead or to judge according to their roles. Meeting with Bulgarian Minister of Justice, Mr. Oleg Efrim
The director of the Rule of Law Program South East Europe, Mr. Thorsten Geissler had a meeting yesterday with the Bulgarian Minister of Justice, Mr. Oleg Efrim in which the two sides discussed possible cooperation opportunities for the near future.

The KAS-RSPSOE in cooperation with the Institute for Democracy and Mediation and with the support of the Geneva Centre for Democratic Control of the Armed Forces (DCAF) are organizing a conference on the role of Independent Oversight bodies in Security Sector Reform in Albania. Seminar on "European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and the Montenegrin Code of Criminal Procedure" in Becici, Montenegro
Between 31st of October and 1st of November, the KAS-RLPSEE in cooperation with the Center for Democracy and Human Rights (CEDEM) organized in Becici, Montenegro a seminar on "European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and the Montenegrin Code of Criminal Procedure". REGIONAL CONFERENCE: Strengthening Magistrates Associations in South East Europe from the 26th to the 28th of October organized in Bucharest
The KAS-RSPSOE organizes this week in Bucharest a regional conference entitled “Strengthening Magistrates Associations in South East Europe – Managerial Development, Participation in Decision-Making and Cooperation” and gathering representatives of judges and prosecutors associations from the countries of South East Europe.
