This is the 8th edition in the series of the Judiciary Watch Report that is implemented jointly by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the ICJ Kenya.

This book seeks to address the question of impunity in Kenya and explore the possible options for justice in Kenya especially within the context of the 2007 post-election violence in the country. This book has 8 chapters. Chapter 1 focuses on the accountability process in Kenya; chapter 2 looks at the Truth and reconciliation commission in South Africa and the valuable lessons for Kenya; chapter 3 reviews the twin approach of special tribunal and the truth commission in Sierra Leone and the valuable lessons for Kenya; chapter 4 addresses issues of transitional justice and accountability for sexual and gender-based violence in Kenya; chapter 5 explores the role of the civil society in transitional justice process; chapter 6 addresses impunity within the context of the ongoing constitutional and institutional reform in Kenya; chapter 7 addresses universal jurisdiction and the fight against impunity in Africa and chapter 8 looks at the role of the African Union in the fight against impunity in Africa.
