KAS’ African Group of Experts on International Criminal Justice Annual Meeting 2017

KAS’ African Group of Experts on International Criminal Justice held its 2017 annual meeting in Lilongwe, Malawi on 24th and 25th August 2017. Gender and Transitional Justice in East Africa: Exchanging Experiences and Expertise

The conference on Gender and Transitional Justice in East Africa was jointly organized by the KAS' Rule of Law Program for Sub Saharan Africa and Strathmore Institute for Advanced Studies in International Criminal Justice (SIASIC). Other partners included; The International Nuremberg Principles Academy, Prosecuting Conflict- related Sexual Violence Network and Adélia Foundation. This conference was jointly organized by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, Rule of Law Program for Sub-Saharan Africa and the Institute for International and Comparative Law in Africa, Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria, South Africa. The conference sought to identify and discuss the contemporary challenges to, and reasons for the steady decline in the state of the rule of law in the Sub-Saharan region.
