The conference aims a balanced information of the civil society on the implications of the Agreement for the Installation of the Ballistic Defense System and the Strategic Partnership for the 21-st Century, signet between Romania and the USA.
Romania and the United States fo America signed on September, 13, 2011 the Agreement for the Installation of the Ballistic Defens System and the Strategic Partnership for the 21-st Century. On the other hand, the Strategic Concept of the NATO, adopted in November 2010 at Lisabon, stipulates the development of a NATO Rocket Defense System that could integrate the bilateral Romanian-US System. The conference aimd a balanced information of the press and civil society on the opportunities and risks of the initiatives and incourages a debate on the main implications for the security, on national, regional and transatlantic level.
