The aim of this report is to look closely at the activities of external actors in the Western Balkans and to describe their function and role, intentions and interests, and the resources at their disposal. It also considers local and regional perceptions and sensitivities and evaluates the involvement of these external actors from a European and German perspective. 24 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, European Council President Herman Van Rompuy expressed in Berlin his concerns over the challenges Europe is facing today. The ‘Job Creation Summit’ was held in Bucharest on 3rd- 6th October 2013, gathering over 130 YEPP representatives who discussed about the issues of youth employment in Europe and developed a programmatic document for PPE in order to promote the employment of young people. The Work of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Central and Eastern Europe

When the Eastern Bloc collapsed in the 1989, its countries started to open up, providing an opening for our work. The main focus of our activities was the creation of KAS offices in former communist spheres of influence. The launching point for the expansion of our office network in Central and Eastern Europe was our existing office in Vienna. Today we have over 18 offices in these countries of which 15 are full KAS offices and three are liaison offices. more…
