Afganistan in SAARC: Towards Deeper Engagement
On 14 and 15 May 2013 fourteen distinguished experts from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Pakistan met in Kathmandu to discuss a proactive role of the SAARC countries for the peaceful and democratic development of Afghanistan within South Asia after the withdrawal of the ISAF in 2014

What are the elite perceptions of regional cooperation in South Asia? How are they shaped? To discuss these and related questions the Regional Programme SAARC and the Centre for Public Affairs hosted a discussion forum with experts from political science, civil society and media on 03 May 2013.

On 18 April 2013 the Regional Programme SAARC together with the Centre for South Asian Studies launched the second edition for the seminar series "Nepal's National Interests". After Foreign Policy, Internal Security, Federalism and Energy the second book now adresses Secularism, Free Media and Employment.
