Nepal: CA announced extension of May 27 deadline
The Constitutional Assembly of Nepal has announced to extend the tenure for the drafting of the constitution by three months. In a verdict on 25th November 2011 the Supreme Court has set the deadline to be the 27th of May. The political crisis of Nepal continues.

New Staff Member for the Regional Programme SAARC
The Regional Programme SAARC of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) has expanded its staff. Col Nazrul Islam has joined the team as Project Coordinator for the Country Office Bangladesh on 9 May 2012. Col. Islam has served in the Bangladesh Army before he contributed as a Research Director for the BIISS.

New SAARC Secretary General assumes office
On 12 March 2012, H.E. Ahmed Saleem from the Maledives, assumed office as new Secretary General of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).
