Violence against Women and Children in South Africa

Graca Machel, founder of the Graca Machel Trust was the guest speaker at the 11th Dullah Omar Memorial Lecture that took place on 3rd October at the University of the Western Cape. In her speech Ms Machel focussed on the extreme levels of violence against Women and Children in South Africa. She pointed out that the situation can not be turned around by state institutions or by introducing more laws but only by a change of the South African society itself. more…
