The KAS Syria/Iraq office and the prestigious al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies, an Iraqi Think Tank affiliated with the National Security Council, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to deepen their partnership. Nils Wörmer on the war against ISIS

"Russia and the US need to find a solution for Syria this summer"

To defeat ISIS, there is a need for stable and legitimate governments in Syria and Iraq, says resident representative Nils Wörmer on Kas.de. Especially the war in Syria needs to be stopped. Russia and the US are currently in talks on Syria, but due to the upcoming US elections, time is running out.

Cultural Festival in Baddawi

In October 2015, the KAS supported a cultural festival organized by the Arab Resource Center for Popular Arts/Al Jana in the Baddawi refugee camp. The festival displayed photos taken by refugee children depicting their daily live in the refugee camp and the film “3/4”, which explores the changed role of Syrian women in the refugee community.
