High Level Religious Leaders Summit

Official launch of the “NATIONAL COUNCIL OF RELIGIOUS LEADERS” in Tanzania

On 12th November 2016 the official launch of the “National Council of Religious Leaders” in Tanzania, which was concluded by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) by heads of religious institutions, took place. Hence, the "Interreligious Council for Peace Tanzania (IRCPT)" was finally adopted by religious leaders as their official institution to bring them together to discuss issues which strengthen relationships, tolerance and cooperation among the different religions in Tanzania. The event took place on 12th and 13th October 2016 in Mwanza involving more than 100 participants from the three neighbouring countries Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
