Administrative Organization of the German Bundestag

In cooperation with the administration of the German Bundestag, KAS held a seminar on the responsibilities and organisation of the Bundestag’s administration. The objective was to assist the Thai Parliament in formulating a bill on the organization of the parliamentary administration.

EU Project Launch event

Official launch of European Union co-funded project “Improvement of Access to Justice for Civilians in the Deep-South Provinces of Thailand”

KAS together with Cross Cultural Foundation and Muslim Attorney Center officially launched the EU co-funded project. The remarkable participation of high-ranking officers, ministries, National Human Rights Commission, military as well as international and national organizations, indicates the political relevance of the project. It ensures stakeholder’s attention which will enable close cooperation leading to an effective implementation during the lifetime of the project and beyond.

Preparing Thai Public Administration for the ASEAN-Community

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva gave an opening speech at the conference jointly organized by KAS and OCSC. He described the progress towards the realization of the ASEAN-Community and outlined the necessity for the public administration to adjust to the new challenges trough reform.

A photographic exhibition supported by KAS has been opened to public at Bangkok Art and Cultural Centre. The exhibition explores the recent political crisis that erupted in Bangkok in May 2010 from the perspective of five artists. It invites to thought and reflection.

Special Laws in the South: Applications and Reflections

The two-day workshop “Special Laws in the South: Applications and Reflections” organized by KAS in cooperation with Cross Cultural Foundation (CrCF) in Songkla focused on current controversies and developments regarding the security law application in the Deep-south. The event addressed challenges local civil society organizations face in practice of law and human rights protection. Conclusion derived from series of debates will be published and launched in October.
