Education for Democratic Citizenship – Perspectives from Germany and Thailand
On 30 May 2008, KAS Thailand organized a workshop under the title “Education for Democratic Citizenship – Perspectives from Germany and Thailand”. Dr Michael Holländer gave the members of staff of the Secretariat of the National Assembly (SNA), responsible for political education, training in methods of political education.

A seminar about the new role and function of the Criminal Division for Persons Holding Political Positions (SCP) of the Supreme Court of Thailand, according to Thailand's new constitution of 2007. Among other speakers are the President of the Supreme Court and the President of the SCP.
Round-table Discussion
Reflections on Thai – German Cooperation in Security Policy
On 17 March 2008, KAS Thailand organized a round-table discussion on security policy with the Parliamentary Secretary of the Federal Minister of Defence of Germany, Thomas Kossendey, as speaker. Among other participants were the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Defence of Thailand, General Winai Phattiyakul, and the Deputy Permanent Secretary, General Saprang Kalayanamitr as well as high-ranking representatives from the military.

Meeting with CNS Leader & Presentation KAS Publications
General Sondhi Boonyarataklin, Leader of the Council of National Security (CNS), during presentation of our research about the conflict in Southern Thailand and study of the framework of the new constitution draft, on his visit to the Central Maolid Festival in Krabi, 24 February 2007. Both publications received high interest from General Sondhi, one of the most powerful figures in the politics of Thailand.
