The German Constitution and the Rights to Petition
This year the KAS in Bangkok started a new co-operation with the office of the Ombudsman. This co-operation can be understood as a supplement to the KAS' long-term co-operation with the Constitutional Court. At our first workshop Prof. Ernst Benda was speaking on "The German Constitution and the Rights to Petition".

Visit of Dr Lars Peter Schmidt, KAS-Representative to Thailand, to post-tsunami projects, organised by the Population and Community Development Association (PDA) in villages in Krabi, which were affected by tsunami in December 2004.
Seminar with the Constitutional Court
Dynamic Rulings of the Constitutional Court: Principles and Practices
Prof. Benda, former President of the German Constitutional Court, and Prof. Umbach, University of Potsdam, were present at a conference in Bangkok, advising judges of the Constitutional Court. After that, on 23rd of November 2005, they gave a seminar in co-operation with the University of Chiang Mai and the Constitutional Court of Thailand in Chiang Mai. The seminar was open to local judges as well as to students.
